Design and implementation of high capacity photonic backbones

The seminar will be given by Marco Schiano, of Telecom Italia Labs. This presentation offers a survey of wavelength switching technologies and  coherent transmission systems including the next generation systems based on flexible optical spectrum organization. The benefits of these technologies applied to the new Telecom Italia photonic backbone Kaleidon are also described.
